Comedian Alex Brooker caused a Twitter storm on Friday after jokingly saying he wouldn't want to live in Huddersfield.

The Last Leg star was called out on social media during Friday night's show on Channel 4.

One user even used the show's Q&A hashtag, #isitok, to ask: "#isitOK that @alex_brooker just slagged off the biggest town in England (Huddersfield)? Leave alone si' thi'."

His comments came days before a survey by TotallyMoney.com ranked Huddersfield in the bottom 10 of the best places in which to live in Britain.

Huddersfield was ranked 56th out of 64 places, languishing near the bottom with places including Grimsby, Burnley, Blackpool and Rochdale.

But proud Huddersfield folk were quick to stand up for their hometown and put Brooker in his place:
