A Huddersfield pub has made it to the final round Yorkshire's Favourite Pub 2015.

The Woodman Inn in Thunderbridge is one of ten finalists in the Welcome to Yorkshire competition to find the best boozer in the county.

The Shibden Mill Inn in Halifax and the Fleece Inn in Barkisland have also been selected for the final.

Over the last year, the public nominated 850 pubs for the competition, with votes up 60 per cent on last year.

Votes are now being cast to decide which pub will take the top prize, and the winner will be announced at the Great Yorkshire Show.

People can read about the finalists and back their favourite pub at www.yorkshire.com/pub — voting closes on June 19.

Welcome to Yorkshire chief executive Gary Verity said: "Once again we have seen a record number of nominations and votes in this competition which shows that the passion for Yorkshire’s pubs has far from faltered.

"Yorkshire is known for its rich heritage and breathtaking landscapes but our welcoming collection of pubs are just as important in our bid to sell Yorkshire to the world.

"We recently won a silver medal at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show, with our garden, Brewers Yard, celebrating the county being home to more micro and independent breweries than anywhere else in the UK.

"Every pub that was nominated for the title of Yorkshire’s Favourite Pub 2015 should be congratulated and I look forward to seeing our winner collecting their title at the Great Yorkshire Show in July.

Last year's winner was The Woolly Sheep Inn in Skipton.
