When it comes to Easter, chocolate shells rule the roost, but what if we told you Asda has hatched an offering made entirely of cheese?
Yes, cheese lovers your prayers have finally been answered.
The supermarket has launched a tasty alternative to chocolate eggs, and it's perfect for those who aren't particularly keen on the traditional offering.
Asda's 'Cheester' egg is made out of blue cheese and weighs in at 120g.
It comes in multicoloured box with a pack of oatcakes and a sachet of caramelised chutney.
As of yet, there's no price for unusual egg but whatever it costs it's likely to fly off the shelves.
James Clapham from Butler’s said: “It’s something a bit light-hearted, a bit of fun. We hope it will encourage more people to try blue cheese as this one is truly delicious.
“You can press the cheese from the Cheester Egg out onto a cheeseboard and have it as a centrepiece. Or you can spread it on a cracker with a bit of chutney and serve it as mini hors d’oeuvres. Or you can melt it in pan and dip crusty bread into it like fondue. You could even have it melted on hot cross buns for a real Easter treat!"
As well as the savoury treat, Asda also has a three for £10 deal on Easter eggs. Shoppers can choose from a variety of brands including Cadbury, Milkybar, Nestle and Guylain.
Shoppers will be able to buy the Cheester egg from March, 16 when it lands in stores.
