Fast food fans rejoiced this week as Burger King began a delivering Whoppers, Angus burgers and more direct to their doors.

But if you want Burger King grub direct to your door in Huddersfield, you need to be in the right postcode area.

The new delivery service, already launched in Leeds, Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester, has begun in Huddersfield — but only to the HD8 postcode.

HD8 includes Clayton West, Denby Dale, Emley, Fenay Bridge, Kirkburton, Lepton, Scissett, Shelley and Skelmanthorpe.

Surprisingly, Burger King does not deliver to Huddersfield town centre areas, despite a new Burger King branch opening in the Packhorse Centre food court in December.

Customers can check whether their address is eligible for delivery by visiting and entering their postcode.

If their address is outside of the delivery area, customers can enter the email address to receive an update when delivery is available and a voucher to spend on their first order.

Burger King returned to Huddersfield after a two-year hiatus last December, to the delight of Huddersfield fast food fans.

On Facebook, Ke Ackroyd said: "Best day of my life."

Kat Shaw said: "I'm so excited!"

Burger King closed its restaurant on the corner of King Street and Cross Church Street in 2013 and was replaced with a Morrisons store, much to the anguish of customers.

One man in Meltham even made a Facebook appeal for the burger chain to return in August:
