Colne Valley MP Jason McCartney officially opened a new store in Milnsbridge.

Face-painting and free gifts featured at the opening of the Bargain Booze Select convenience in Market Street.

The new store is owned by franchisee Akeib Mahmood, who previously owned and operated an independent store in Lytham St Anne’s and boasts over 10 years experience in convenience retailing.

The 1,000sq ft store stocks wines from more than 20 regions and a choice of more than 200 beers, ciders and spirits, including craft ales. It also sells chilled and frozen groceries.

Mr Mahmood said: “I am delighted to be part of the Bargain Booze franchise and look forward to serving the local community in my first store.

“Having been successful independent retailer for many years and with my family having been in retail for over two decades, I am sure many of my skills will easily translate to the Bargain Booze business. I look forward to welcoming the community to the store and meeting everyone.”
