IF YOU are a Gilbert and Sullivan fan then Meltham is the place to be later this month.

For two nights, St Bartholomew’s church hall will become a haven for G and S devotees thanks to the musical skills of Meltham’s Gilbert and Sullivan Society.

Many of the singers from the company’s major productions will be involved in a musical evening on Friday April 23 and Saturday April 24.

First up is the fun and theatricality of a quick fire look at Trial By Jury.

Then for sheer showmanship the audience can depend on the skills of magician Philip Horn.

The society’s own singers will then return with monologues, solos and duets including many old time songs.

The group holds these spring concerts to help support the costs of its major productions which run in the same venue each autumn.

Tickets for the concerts are available from Hudsons newsagents in Meltham or on 01484 349037 or 01484 850311.
