THEY are the actors who bring sunshine to the Lawrence Batley Theatre stage.

The Sunshine Players, the theatre’s drama group for the over 50s, return to the LBT with a new piece called Come To Slinkies.

It’s a comedy, devised by the group and directed by Ron Wiener.

They’ve set the piece in Slinkies, a rundown bar where the owner is trying to boost his lunchtime trade with a spot of pole dancing!.

His staff members understandably have mixed feelings and mayhem follows.

See the show at the theatre on Thursday June 9 at 11am.

Tickets are £3 / concessions £2 from the box office on 01484 430528 or go online at www.thelbt.org.

ŠThe LBT Sunshine Players is an improvisation theatre group which meets every Thursday morning at the theatre.

They use the sessions to develop performance skills, explore issues and devise shows.

The group explore all sorts of issues through drama, creating shows that they perform both at the LBT and out in the community.

New members are always welcome to the Sunshine Players, contact Madeleine Frost - Participation Officer at the LBT - on 01484 484450 for more information.
