COMEDIENNE Janice Connelly will be performing her one-woman show at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield next month.

She is probably best known as Holy Mary from TV’s phenomenally successful and much loved Phoenix Nights.

Now she is a circuit headline act in her own right with her creation Mrs Barbara Nice – a housewife superstar from Stockport.

Barbara has given up the world of Tupperware and Poundstretcher to take on the unpredictable world of stand-up comedy.

She’s the mother of five worried that we are living in a world of ever diminishing friendliness where we keep ourselves to ourselves, heads down afraid to catch anyone’s eye.

Barbara wants us all to stand proud, be open and look the world right in the eye – or we won’t feel the benefit!

Janice Connelly is bringing her show Hiya and Higher to the LBT’s Syngenta Cellar on Saturday, June 14, having recently supported Johnny Vegas and Peter Kay.

She will be returning to the LBT in October in The Bad One with Women and Theatre, the award-winning Birmingham community theatre company.

Tickets for Hiya and Higher are £10 + concessions £8. Box office: 01484 430528.
