IT IS one of the brass highlights of the summer: the Holme Valley Brass Band contest.

Contests will be held all day in Holmfirth Civic Hall on Sunday, June 9 starting at 11am.

The youth section competes first with Section B up next and the Section A bands rounding off the day’s contesting.

The adjudicator is Colin Hardy with Stuart Fawcett casting an expert eye over deportment.
