WHAT is it about Honley that turns out so much musical talent?

The village’s Ladies Choir say it must be something in the water or oozing from the cobbles!

For the choir has just overseen two big concerts in the village involving much of the musical talent it has to offer.

The ladies have been working with all the village schools plus its other musical organisations including Honley Male Voice Choir, the Hand Chime Ringers from St Mary’s Church, Honley, Honley band and Honley Saxophone Choir.

The concerts, Honley Does Christmas 1 and 2, were held at Honley High School.

The first was compered by BBC Look North’s Ian White and for the second concert, the job went to Colne Valley MP Jason McCartney whose dad is a member of the Male Voice Choir.

Both concerts show-cased the amazing musical talent that Honley has to offer.
