ACTORS are always endeavouring to hone their skills and Huddersfield Thespians have been running a series of workshops to help them do just that.

The next is early in the New Year and offers a chance for the Thespians already skilled team of actors to brush up on their make-up skills and discover the latest techniques.

Dani Haigh, a student at Leeds City College is running the next workshop which is on January 2 at the Thespians’ headquarters which is at Oakes Mill in New Hey Road just beyond the Bay Horse roundabout.

Dani is studying hair and media makeup plus theatrical special effects.

“I learn many different things and would love to share them all with you,” she said.

“Come along to the workshop and I will show you the techniques of applying many different make-up looks from fashion make-up to media make-up including Zombies and special effects or even ageing make-up.

“I think it will be beneficial for everyone to see different techniques and how to improve an actor’s appearance for a performance and also to really enhance a character, plus it’s fun to do!
