THERE’S a bit of a milestone coming up tomorrow for Huddersfield Voices.

The choir, which until two years ago was known as Huddersfield Methodist Choir, will sing at Holy Trinity Church in Huddersfield.

It will be a particular emotional concert for the singers as they will be saying goodbye to their conductor Alan Brierley who will lead them tomorrow for the last time.

Alan has conducted the choir for 29 years and there will be a presentation to him after the concert.

The choir sings sacred music and opera choruses to popular songs, classics and modern compositions.

It will share the concert with New Mill Male Voice Choir which Alan continues to conduct.

The concert begins at 7.30pm and there will be much to enjoy in what promises to be a lovely, music-filled send-off for a stalwart and loyal conductor who has given many years to the area’s music-making.
