Model vehicle fans flocked to a remote controlled truck event at the weekend.

The Huddersfield Society of Model Engineers organised the day at their Highfields site.

The site, located behind Kirklees College’s Highfields Annex, has a remote controlled trucking system to test out driving skills.

Truckers showcased model remote controlled vehicles.

These can cost over £1,000 to build and customise.

Visitors also got the chance to ride on the miniature railway and test out the remote controlled boats. These were sailed on the pond by members of the society.

The society was founded in 1919 and is one of the country’s oldest model engineering societies.
