THE KEYS restaurant in Huddersfield town centre is a busy food venue but has also established itself as a popular place for evening entertainment.

Its latest series of concerts and events starts tomorrow in real style with Yorkshire-based swing group Dizzy Fingers.

This popular foursome has established a following for its treatment of songs of the 30s and 40s which offers a taste of the Parisian swing style associated with one of the European masters of jazz guitar playing, Django Reinhardt.

The band’s repertoire also includes modern arrangements of songs by Nina Simone, Billie Holiday and Louis Jordan, in addition to the swing numbers which are enjoying a revival worldwide.

Tomorrow’s concert starts at 8pm.

The £15 ticket price includes a two-course buffet.

Firm local favourites the Savannah Jazz Band play the Keys, one of their now regular venues, on November 22.

The band will be playing their New Orleans-style music and the £16.50 ticket price again includes a two-course buffet.

The band has an established residency at Golcar Royal British Legion Club, where they play on the first Thursday of every month.

Their next gig there is on November 6.

The Keys’ popular Murder Mystery-style evening is scheduled for December 11, with the Christmas season getting off to a rocking start on December 13 with northern rock band, Borderline.

Those who still see Elvis as The King should mark December 20 in their diaries for a festive event with music sure to get you dancing.
