FOR New Orleans’ style jazz then look out for local gigs by the Savannah Jazz Band.

The band, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, has regular monthly gigs, usually on the first Thursday of the month at the Royal British Legion Club in Golcar.

Catch up with them in Leeds next Tuesday (September 8) when they play Leeds Jazz Club.

They will feature on clarinet, Paul Harrison from Denmark on clarinet who was 19 years old when he joined the Savannah as their first clarinet player in 1979.

The band is delighted to have him back with them as part of its anniversary celebrations.

Later this month (September 26) they will be playing at the Keys Restaurant in Huddersfield.

As part of the anniversary, the band has released a new CD out on Lake Records, called Let Us Take You To The Mardi Gras.
