SHE’S already tempted many people to try singing.

And they’ve had the time of their lives!

Now you can hear Jenny Goodman, who when she is not teaching others to sing is head of outreach and education at the Lawrence Batley Theatre, singing with her four-piece a capella group, Far Flung Voices.

Far Flung Voices are Jenny, Judith Silver, Sarah Harman and Sue Parlby.

Together they weave their voices into an intricate and complex blend of harmonies drawing on influences as diverse as world music, folk, jazz and classical.

Their songs are original, personal and take a wry and personal look at life.

If you like your music to make you laugh with delight, make you cry and make you think then this is for you.

On Friday, July 18, you’ll be able to join a workshop at the LBT from 7pm until 9.30pm, learn some of the group’s material then join them on stage next day.

The workshop will cost £10 (£7 for concessions).

The gig on July 19 is at the Peacock Lounge on Viaduct Street, Huddersfield’s new cabaret venue.

Combined workshop/concert tickets cost £18/£12. Tickets from Roz on 07790 667140 (after 6pm) or on rozzi_g@hotmail.com Book now; spaces and tickets are limited
