HE’S loud, sharp and controversial. And though Geordie comic Gavin Webster makes his debut in Huddersfield this month, he’s likely to pack the house.

Put that down to his billing as one of the most exciting talents to emerge on the national comedy circuit in recent years.

Gavin turned his back on a comedy double act and went solo in 1995. He hasn’t looked back since.

When he’s not working as support to top-liners such as Lee Evans, Jack Dee and Phill Jupitus, Gavin is on Channel 4 appearing as a regular team captain on Does Doug Know.

Sharing the billing at Huddersfield Laughter Lounge on May 30 is comedy juggler Steve Royle who last played the Peacock Lounge comedy gig a year ago.

Rob Riley returns to compere with Midlander Craig Deeley as the night’s other guest. Tickets are £10 from the Peacock Lounge, from Sleepers or the Wall of Sound Records.
