AN evening of your favourite songs from the movie musicals you love best will be on offer in Marsden next week.
This is the time of year when Marsden Operatic Society is usually holding its last few rehearsals before its major autumn musical. This year they have opted instead for a music revue which they are calling Let’s Go To The Movies.
Packed with much loved show tunes, the revue runs at Marsden Parochial Church Hall from October 21 to 25 with performances starting at 7.30pm.
There will be plenty of familiar faces on stage including that of Dawn Leigh, who is no stranger to Marsden audiences as she has choreographed and appeared in several shows. There’s a new role this time around for Dawn who makes her Marsden debut as producer. She will also be delighting audiences with her singing talents.
Carole Bradley, another Marsden regular, makes her debut as choreographer of a Marsden show while Natalie Davies joins the company as musical director. The musicians are Ian Abbott on keyboard, Phil Kampen on Bass and Duncan Matley on percussion.
Seating is cabaret style and tickets at £7 are on sale at Duncan’s Hairdressers, Warehouse Hill, Marsden, telephone 01484 845311 (shop hours only).
