IT IS a first for Holme Valley Singers but they can’t wait.

The mixed choir, which rehearses in Thongsbridge, is singing tomorrow (Saturday March 20) for the first time with Huddersfield Choral Youth Choir.

The concert is at Brighouse Central Methodist Church at 7.15pm.

The Singers have been having a run of competition successes under the leadership of their new music director, Kim Kaye.

Late last year, they finished second behind a semi-professional choir at the North Wales Festival in LlandudnoŠ and at theŠMrs Sunderland Music Festival in Huddersfield they won both the Kirklees and Mixed Choir Classes.

The Huddersfield Choral Youth Choir has 80 members. There are two main sections, the Youth Choir, for singers aged 13 to 21 and the Young Voices for those aged from seven to 13 years. These young singers are directed by Musical Director Susan Wilkinson and sing a wide variety of music.

The tickets for the concert are £6, £5 for seniors and Kirklees Passport Holders and £4 for those in education. They are available on the door.
