MANY may be thinking about holidays but for Colne Valley Male Voice Choir there is still work to be done.

This time of year is always busy for the singers. They started the month with a great welcome back to the Concert on the Hill at Outlane and followed that up by singing at Clifton Music and Flower Festival in Nottinghamshire.

They sang in the small but beautiful St Mary’s Church and received a standing ovation for a mixed programme which included solos by Matthew Houston, Raymond Ellis and David Hirst.

There was also a piano solo from the choir’s accompanist Keith Swallow.

Next on the agenda was a return visit to The Concert In The Park at Belton in north Lincolnshire.

But there is no resting on their laurels for these singers.

Their next concert is on August 21, a third visit to Queen St Methodist Central Hall in Scarborough.

Word has it that they will get just one night off rehearsals before getting back to work on a new CD of love songs which is due out in the autumn.
