IT HAS become a not to be missed tradition, a “come and sing” Messiah which welcomes singers and audience alike.

Ken Rothery remains the man at the helm of this annual event which will be held at Parkwood Methodist Church this weekend.

Singers are invited to join the choir or alternatively, to go along and swell the audience. There will be no admission charge but a collection will be taken to help meet expenses.

This is an event which has a real celebratory feel and offers a great opportunity to sing one of the great works, Handel’s Messiah.

The performance is at Parkwood on Sunday, November 22, at 6.15pm.

Ken Rothery will conduct and Geoffrey Lockwood will be the organist.

The soloists will include Sarah Ogden and Roy Hirst, both of whom have sung at Parkwood before, as well as two singers joining the event for the first time – Thom Meredith and Caroline Robinson.
