IT IS being billed as a night of entertainment that is good for the heart, mind and soul.

Music, song, dance and poetry will all feature in Heart, Mind and Soul, a show organised at the Lawrence Batley Theatre on June 6 by the Deighton Carnival Strategy Committee.

The show will feature the Chariots of Joy Gospel Choir from Nottingham as well as other artists from Huddersfield.

This is expected to be a real family event and will feature the Joshua Generation Choir, the young singers of Tru Colours gospel choir plus the Sacred Dancers.

Tickets are £8 for adults with children’s tickets and concessions at £6 from the LBT box office on 01484 430528 and on-line.

This showcasing of talent both from the local area and from further afield, is a curtain-raiser for the Deighton Carnival which will be at the Deighton centre on June 27 from noon until 7pm.

The carnival will include a procession, sports events plus a stage show involving local performers.

The carnival procession will travel around the Deighton ward and there will be stalls, food from around the world as well as face painting and events aimed at a family audience.

But first, a fun filled spectacular featuring different forms of entertainment with a gospel theme.
