IT MAY seem a little early to be thinking of Christmas presents but here is one that could be just too good to miss out on.
Miscellany is the Huddersfield based cabaret group whose popular singers and performers give concerts across the region, many of them to support charities.
Now the group is offering free concerts this Christmas to groups for the elderly and residential homes.
“We are delighted to be able to do this thanks to Miscellany’s association with Plastics Direct Limited of Ashton under Lyne,” said a spokesman for the group.
“The company, whose founder and director, Carl Morgan, is a performing member of Miscellany, has offered funding to the group, to enable us to perform these free Christmas concerts.”
Miscellany already has a busy diary for the year. Future concerts include bookings in Leeds, Scarborough, Settle, Huddersfield, Dewsbury and Pickering.
Go to one of their concerts and you’ll hear songs from shows, folk music, opera, pop, and comic monologues.
Lisa Kendall, one of Miscellany’s singers said: “We love performing to all audiences, but performing to our senior citizens is very special.
“We often tailor our programme to songs from the 1940s and the audience participation at these events is second to none. We love it because they do”
