MAKE a date to start your musical year with one of the area’s busiest musicians, Dr Gordon Stewart.

Gordon returns to Huddersfield Town Hall on Monday to continue his season of lunchtime organ concerts.

He is Kirklees Borough Organist and for two decades has played regular recitals on the Town Hall’s 1860 Father Willis organ at Huddersfield Town Hall.

Gordon has built up a big following for his concert series.

In addition to his UK concert commitments, he regularly tours abroad.

He has played in New Zealand, Australia and South Africa and has led master-classes at colleges and universities throughout this country and in the USA, South Africa and the Netherlands.

On Monday (January 10), Gordon’s concert will include music by A Hollins (Concert Overture in C), D Johnson (Trumpet Tune in A), F Liszt (Consolation in D flat), J S Bach (Fantasia and Fugue in G Minor) J Jongen (Minuet Scherzo), C Franck (Redemption) and R Wagner (The Ride of the Valkyries).

Tickets are £4 (£3 concessions) from Kirklees booking offices on 01484 223200 or you can pay on the door.

Lunches will be available in the Old Court Room from noon.
