HE IS a Huddersfield born musician whose name is known worldwide.

Robin Hill heads back to home territory next month to show off his skills as a top class guitar player. He will play a lunchtime concert at Dewsbury Town Hall on February 9 (12.30pm).

Since his last visit to Dewsbury Town Hall, Robin has been performing in such far flung destinations as Hong Kong, Bombay, Dubai, Maldives, Egypt and Brazil.Š

At his Dewsbury concert he will play pieces by Rodrigo, Fernando Sor, Bach and Hill.

Robin studied music at Huddersfield College of Music and later took part in master classes with Venezuelan guitarist Alirio Diaz.Š

It was while he was studying in Huddersfield that Robin met fellow guitarist Peter Wiltschinsky.

Together they formed the Hill/Wiltschinsky Guitar Duo, a highly successful partnership with a vast archive of recordings, numerous television and radio broadcast and extensive worldwide tours.

In more recent years Robin has made many appearances as a soloist and has begun to develop his compositional activities. Š Robin has collaborated with artists as diverse as the legendary tenor, Luciano Pavarotti, to British rock bands Jethro Tull and Deep Purple.
