GUITARIST John Etheridge returns to the Lawrence Batley Theatre for an unmissable concert early next month.

Unmissable because John is an extraordinary musician renowned for his ability to play a huge range of styles.

John, who was born in London in the late Forties, demonstrated that skill by touring and recording with the iconic Stephane Grapelli, while doing likewise with Europe’s top rock-fusion group Soft Machine.

Equally at home on acoustic or electric guitar, John has worked with many top name musicians, be it Yehudi Menuhin, Dizzy Gillespie or renowned classical guitarist, John Williams.

In concert, he plays everything from classical to rock and almost anything that you could wish for in between.

John has become a regular visitor to the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield and returns to play there on March 7 as part of the Huddersfield Jazz season.

With him will be Trio North, his regular group of Northern-based musicians.

Fans know that this approachable musician will change his programme as he goes, simply strap on a guitar and play anything from his own much in demand compositions to music associated with the likes of the great Grapelli.

The concert in the LBT’s Cellar space, the music begins at 8pm. Tickets from the box office on 01484 430528.
