MELTHAM and Meltham Mills Band continues to celebrate its promotion into the championship section, this time with a concert in Huddersfield.

The band will play at St Paul’s Hall in the town centre on Saturday October 6 (7.15pm) and is delighted to have as its guests the Huddersfield Choral Society Junior Choirs

The choirs celebrated their 25th anniversary last year and they too have much to celebrate.

They have won competitions, sung in many concerts and appeared on television.

They sing all kinds and styles of music. From pop and rock to folk and classical and their aim is to make singing fun.

Over the years, a series of youth and children’s choirs, now under the banner of Huddersfield Choral Society Junior Choirs, have introduced hundreds of children and young people to the sheer joy of singing.

Musical Director Susan Wilkinson has worked with the choirs from the outset and is also musical director of Gledholt Male Voice Choir.

On the concert platform Susan is also well know as a soloist and accompanist.

Susan will conduct the choir at the St Paul’s concert and the accompanist will be Jane Robertson.

Jane, who as well as performing solo engagements, is much in demands for her skills as an accompanist.

Expect a varied and exciting programme from the band and a fresh and engaging sound from the choirs.

Tickets are £7 (£5 concessions) from Scotty’s Barbers, Meltham or from Kirklees Booking Offices.
