MUSICIANS from two orchestras will join forces tomorrow night to offer a touch of Midsummer Music.
A concert at Huddersfield Town Hall will feature the combined talents of both Kirklees Youth Symphony Orchestra and Huddersfield Philharmonic Orchestra.
It is a concert both orchestras have been thinking about and planning for some time.
Now they have matched their dairies and tomorrow will see the fresh young talent of the Kirklees Youth Symphony Orchestra blending with the maturity and experience of players from the Philharmonic.
There’s excitement on both sides at the prospect at combining those talents to play some of the favourites from the classical repertoire.
The musicians will be joined by one of the regions top young groups of singers, the award winning Lindley Choir.
Thom Meredith, head of Kirklees Music School, will conduct and Katrina Lee will be the violin soloist in Wieniawski’s Scherzo Tarantella.
The programme is expected to include Jupiter and Mars from Holst’s Planets Suite plus music by Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich and Schonberg’s Miss Saigon medley.
The concert begins at 7.30pm and tickets are £4 to £8 for adults and children £3 to £5 on 01484 223200 or online at www.kirklees.gov.uk.
