HE has just directed a play in the Huddersfield Thespians’ season at the Lawrence Batley Theatre.

Now Lawrence Barker, one of the society’s most respected actors, will be sharing his stage skills in an actors’ workshop for the company next week.

Lawrence has just directed, Misery in the Cellar space at the LBT. Its success depended much on the relationship between the two characters and the dynamic between their relationship.

Character is what this particular workshop by the Thespians is about.

This is a new venture for the company and it will be held at its headquarters at Oakes Mill West in New Hey Road, Oakes, just past the roundabout at the Lindley turn-off.

The workshop will look at character interpretation and question whether the answer is always in the script.

The two-hour workshop is on December 5 from 7.30pm.

The workshop will look at two short speeches from famous plays, one for a male character and one for a female character.

Both characters became theatrical landmarks. Find out their names, join in the discussion and apply your skills.

Join the Thespians for their first Actors’ Workshop and celebrate with mulled wine and a mince pie.
