FOR an inspiring evening of music and a chance to help a good cause, the place to be tomorrow is Halifax Minster.

That’s where more than 240 singers will gather to sing Karl Jenkins’ inspiring work, The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace.

The concert is at 6pm (March 12) and will raise funds for Overgate Hospice, Elland.

Thom Meredith will conduct the massed orchestra and choir in a concert which is being masterminded by Halifax Young Singers. It was their music director, Lynn Hudson who came up with the idea of a ‘Come and Sing’ performance.

Lynn, Thom’s wife, recruited him and many others from choirs across this area and further afield to put on this performance.

The singers and musicians aim to raise £5, 000 for Overgate.

Tickets from the Minster on the night from 5pm.
