Elbow frontman Guy Garvey has announced two summer gigs as part of Forest Live.

Following the release of his debut solo album, Courting the Squall, Garvey will perform in forests in North Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire in June.

Tickets for the shows, organised by the Forestry Commission, go on sale this Friday at 9am.

Bury-born Garvey fronted rock band Elbow for almost 25 years before pursuing a solo career.

His debut album, featuring single Anglela's Eyes, reflects on themes of love, friendship and the lure of his Northern homeland.

Forestry Commission profits from ticket sales will be spent on protecting, improving and expanding England’s forests and woodlands and increasing their value to people and wildlife.
