Music lovers have been asked to vote for their favourite Pennine bands.
A total of five groups from Kirklees and Calderdale are up for awards in the prestigious Pure Rawk Awards.
Mr Shiraz, The Scaramanga Six, Idol Dead, Eureka Machines and Dowling Poole each received at least one nomination, thanks to their talents, beating hundreds of bands from around the country.
It has confirmed the region is one of the best in which to rock out.
Eureka Machines, The Scaramanga Six and The Idol Dead are all up for band of the year, while Tropical Contact are up for best new band.
Its singer, Ben Janet, has also received a nomination for the best front person, along with those of Eureka Machines, Mr Shiraz and The Idol Dead.
Scaramanga Six’s Paul Morricone is up for axe hero of the year.
Other nominations for the bands are in the categories of best bassist, drummer and EP.
Mr Shiraz’s Mikey Baird is also up for best promoter, while the Parish, where he works, is up for best venue.
