MUSIC will reach the rafters in St Paul’s Hall in Huddersfield tomorrow thanks to Scissett Youth Band.

The young musicians will play their annual summer in the hall with Shepley Concert Band as their guests.

it is a big night for the young players who range in age from 10 to 18.

The band plays to a high standard and its members are excited to be playing this prestige concert venue tomorrow. The music starts at 7pm.

Led by musical director Simon Mansfield, the band is well-known through both its competition and concert work. At the Mrs Sunderland Competition, it won Youth Section with distinction.

The band was founded by Mrs Pat France in 1978 and currently has 32 players.

It is always on the look out for new members who play either brass or percussion instruments.

The band runs on donations, small grants and fundraising and is always keen to attract new sponsors.

Tickets for tomorrow’s concert are available on the door and all are welcome.
