THE Skelmanthorpe Male Voice Choir sings on home ground tonight.

It has been a busy year for the choir with performances so far at the Mrs Sunderland competition, at St Paul's Hall, Huddersfield, Horbury Methodist Church and QEGS in Wakefield.

Now the singers are looking forward to singing at the Methodist Church, Pilling Lane in their home village of Skelmanthorpe.

Alongside them will be the village’s First school choir in an evening of popular songs, pieces from well known musicals as well as some old and new favourites.

Put June 12 in your diary too for that is when the Skelmanthorpe choir will be joined by much admired musician Simeon Wood who plays flute and many other instruments.

That concert will be at West Wakefield Methodist Church, Wakefield .
