DRAMA student Scarlett Darby has designs to appear on stage.

And one of her artistic creations will be used by a theatre company ahead of their production of Guys and Dolls.

Brighouse Theatre Productions will stage the theatre classic in the autumn.

Budding actress Scarlett’s design was selected to promote the show, which opens on October 12 at Brighouse Civic Hall.

Scarlett, 15 and a pupil at Brooksbank High School in Elland, is taking art for GCSE, was inspired by costume design from the 1930s.

She’s already had some of her art work exhibited at the town’s Smith Art Gallery as part of a young people’s exhibition.

Guys and Dolls runs from October 12 to 15 and rehearsals are well under way with a talented cast.

If anyone is interested in being involved with the productions either on or off stage, contact Lynn Taylor, the company’s secretary can give further details on 01484 719689.
