LOCAl bassist Ken Marley will be swinging back to his base when he appears with the Five Star Swing show at the Penistone Paramount Theatre on Sunday.
Ken has been touring with the band that recently performed with Dame Vera Lynn at her London charity concert.
Five Star Swing, which has played on BBC TV’s Children in Need, plays classic big band and swing songs from artists from Frank Sinatra and Glenn Miller through to Jools Holland-style jazz.
Ken says that Swing style really does still get audiences ‘In The Mood’.
Ex-Ivy Benson Show Band singer and saxophone player Simone Smith will be also be appearing with bandleader husband Chris.
Chris says: “It’s great that jazz and swing music is now enjoyed by all generations. I've been brought up with this style of music as my father (Chris Smith Snr) plays trombone professionally and performed with Frank Sinatra on his last tour.
“We're all looking forward to bringing songs like the Cordette's Mr Sandman to town."
