HUDDERSFIELD’S Camel Club will unveil a whole new venue to its customers tonight.

The Brick and Ballroom area has been created by knocking through a metre-thick wall separating the club from a cellar room at neighbouring shopping centre Byram Arcade.

The room has stood unused next to the club for 60 years – until the Camel Club team started planning a new use for it last year.

It will be used as a second dance area, offering different music to the main club.

On Mondays and Thursday, it will offer indie music, while on Saturdays there will be a Nothing But the Nineties night.

The room – which has a roof covered in glittering CDs – will also be available for VIP or private hire.

Camel Club opens at 10pm tonight and the grand unveiling is expected to take place at around 11.30pm.
