MUSIC will mix with amusement as the next instalment of acts appear at the Lawrence Batley Theatre Comedy Cellar.
On November 6, the LBT will play host to northern comic Mike Newall and music and comedy duo Rob and Skatz.
Mike Newall is known for his poker-faced humour and has been described as ‘Liam Gallagher with wit, and a vocabulary’. Which is meant as praise indeed for Newall, but perhaps a little harsh on the Oasis singer.
Newall is one of the brightest new talents on the UK comedy circuit, winning fans with his relaxed stage presence and witty commentary on topics as varied as fitness centres, Heartbeat and his own dyslexia.
Rob and Skatz are also relatively new faces on the comedy scene, having risen from open mic spots to being a national headline act in just a year.
Award-winning comedy performer Rob Gee has pooled his talent for humour with the skills of highly-respected, and unusually named, musician Skatz. The result is a funny set of songs about the slightly seedy side of life, complimented by their energetic onstage antics.
Keeping them in check on the night will be compère Anthony J Brown.
The fun begins from 8pm, with doors opening at 7pm. Tickets cost £9 or £5 for NUS card holders. You can get tickets from the box office on 01484 430528.
But we have a pair of tickets to give away to one lucky winner of our caption competition.
All you have to do is think up a comedy caption for this photograph ...
Send your idea to: Caption Competition, Katie Campling, Huddersfield Examiner, Queen Street South, HD1 3DU. Or email email@example.com. Entries must be in by October 27.
