NEWCASTLE six-piece Detroit Social Club are all set to release their debut album - and will be treating fans to a taste of what's to come with a gig in Leeds.

The band will perform at the Cockpit on May 14, ahead of the release of the album on their new label Fiction Records, home of White Lies, Snow Patrol and Ian Brown.

The band came to notice in late 2008, after two shows at Manchester's In The City festival, renowned for breaking new bands.

They ended up with a headline performance at the Best of In The city show at the Camden Barfly on the day of their debut single Rivers and Rainbows' release.

Since then, they've gigged around the the UK and supported bands including Primal Scream, Futureheads and Razorlight.
