EXTRA Curricular have had a busy 2012 and revealed they are hoping Glastonbury bookers will come calling in 2013.

With original lead singer Ruby Wood concentrating on her Submotion Orchestra project, the Huddersfield band are moving into a new era.

Vocalist Thabo has stepped up to lead duties accompanied by rapper Jack Flash.

Founder member, Noah Burton said 2012 had been a great year and they were pushing for big things over the forthcoming 12 months.

He said: “For Ruby, Submotion is her main thing now – but for everyone else in the band Extra Curricular is at the forefront of their plans. We really want to push it and our stage show is still very strong.

“Thabo is such a showman so he’s doing great as the frontman.

“It brings a slightly different element to the mix but Jack Flash usually comes through for us so there’s still a hip-hop influence.

“We’ve still got Chungy, everyone wants a bit of him as he’s a great guitarist so we’ve done well to hang on to him.”

The band has released been called upon to help film a pilot for a potential live music TV chat show called Ont Sofa.

And Noah said they had been busy plotting their moves to try and raise their profile.

He said: “We’ve been busy in the studio writing and recording new material and we’re trying to get out in the new year.

“We’ve got a new manager and we’ve signed with Finger Lickin management.

“We’re making plans and trying to be quite clear about what we do.

“We’ve had quite a bit of radio play this year so we want to build on that.

“We’re planning ahead more for next year and we want to do a tour ahead of festival season and we’re really hoping we can get on at one of the bigger festivals like Glastonbury that we haven’t quite managed so far.”
