This was an extremely entertaining film with an unpredictable and enjoyable plot line. The absurd scenarios that the equally bizarre characters found themselves in throughout the film left me chuckling and cringing in equal measures.

Brad Pitt gives a truly memorable performance as Chad, a moronic meat head, and George Clooney is also impressive, managing to convey a whole array of reactions to events in laugh out loud comedy fashion.

Over all this is an excellent film, and despite a fairly slow confusing start, I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a taste for nonsensical, random and hilarious entertainment.

This comedy caper starts off more like a political thriller with Osbourne Cox (John Malkovich) quitting his job as a government analyst.

It’s not immediately clear what’s going and it’s not until gym workers Chad Feldheimer (Brad Pitt) and Linda Litzke (Frances McDormand) are introduced that the serious plot lines give way to laughs.

From then on the intertwined lives of the idiosyncratic characters collide with a classic combination of confusion, misfortune and subterfuge and the film descends into black comedy.

George Clooney was on top form as Harry Pfarrer, a charming yet paranoid former bodyguard and the ageless Brad Pitt put in a classic “air-head” performance reminiscent of his early films.

But it was the closing scene, a stilted conversation between two confused US Government officials trying to make sense of the bizarre turn of events, that really had me chuckling.
