INDIE icon Carl Barat has announced a solo tour to coincide with the release of his new album and book.

The tour will come to Leeds Cockpit venue on October 22.

The album has been written over the last 12 months and fans have been told to “expect the unexpected”.

Barat’s memoirs are also set to intrigue fans and haters alike.

It’s been a busy year for Barat, starting in January with his first theatre acting role alongside Sadie Frost in the Sam Shepard play ‘Fool For Love’.

He has also made a film with friend Mark Donne (Rime of the Modern Mariner) about the history and culture of the London Docklands.

It was premiered at the East End Film Festival in April and will be shown at Latitude Festival later this month, introduced by Barat.

He recently headlined the Leftfield Stage at Glastonbury and he also has of course the small matter of two live performances as special guests at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in August with his old band The Libertines.
