RAPPER Jack Flash is to showcase new material at a solo show at Bar 1:22 tonight.

The Huddersfield MC said he was looking forward to performing on his own for the first time in more than nine months.

He said: “It’s been a while because the focus has been on Extra Curricular.

“It’s going to be fun to get back to doing the solo stuff.

“I’ve got a load of new material and I’ll be playing the keyboard and rapping for the first time.

“It’s a big gamble because I’ve never done it before but I’ve been picking up the keys with all the production on the Extra Curricular stuff.

“I feel I’ve got better and I need to do it live.”

Meanwhile Flash’s other project Extra Curricular have sealed one of the biggest gigs of their career.

The group, who recently signed to record label Pigeonhole This, will appear on the same line up as Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe at the Bates Mill Afterparty on May 21.

Also playing are Doorly, Skream and Benga and Example.

Jack Flash, the former world hip hop freestyle champion, is appearing at Bar 1:22 tonight. Tickets £5 on the door.
