JUNIOR rock stars of the future could win a chance to play at next year’s Leeds Festival.

Centre Stage, a new talent contest for schools, has been launched with more than 150 West Yorkshire Schools invited.

Each school will host their own internal talent competition and the winning act will secure a place at the Centre Stage heats.

A grand final held next July will then give heat winners the opportunity to play in front of an audience of music industry professionals in one of Yorkshire’s most famous venues.

Leeds Festival boss, Melvin Benn, said: “We’re looking forward to hearing some of the exciting and fresh young talent coming through what promises to be a fantastic competition, all in support of Martin House Children’s Hospice.”
