NORTHERN rock fans have another live music festival to look forward to this year.

Ossett, the home of rock ‘n’ roll, is set to host the new two-day Wakefield Rock Festival.

Pitchshifter, InMe and Heaven’s Basement will headline the festival, joining a showcase of some of the UK’s finest unsigned rock, metal and indie acts.

The festival will play host to 30 acts on two stages within the six thousand-capacity Ossett Town FC Ingfield ground.

Nottingham metallers Pitchshifter have previously been named as a key influence on the likes of Hundred Reasons and Lostprophets while Essex-based alternative rock band InMe have a new guitarist and will be unveiling a brand new live sound at the festival.

Completing the headline bill are ascending rockers Heaven’s Basement. Formed in 2008, the band quickly secured tour support for several big acts including Papa Roach, Bon Jovi and Thunder.

Supporting the headliners will be rap-core behemoths Senser, rock ‘n’ roll youngsters The Glitterati and California’s rising rock vixen Marya Roxx.

Weekend and one-day tickets will be on sale from www.wakefieldmusicscene.co.uk. and at venues around Wakefield.
