ARTIST: The Jones

VENUE: Elbow Rooms, Leeds.

REVIEW BY: Adam Sewell.

THE Jones have swagger and an attitude that suggests they really mean business.

The Leeds group’s set was full of power and energy, combining the best attributes of bands like Kasabian and The Music with poignant melodies and strong vocals.

But heavy influence may be their downfall.

I struggled to see anything new in The Jones’s set.

Also with little stage interaction and stony-faces, they weren’t likeable and with the singer’s replication of every northern frontman of the last 10 years, there is a touch of the tribute act to this group.

In terms of offering people something new and different, it seems pretty easy to keep up with The Jones.
