NEWLY re-formed Nineties band Terrorvision are heading for Holmfirth.

The band, who recorded at Huddersfield’s Beaumont Street Studios, will perform at The Picturedrome on November 24.

It is one of three gigs singer Tony Wright, guitarist Mark Yates, bassist Leigh Markley and drummer Shutty scheduled after re-forming Terrorvision this year.

The first gig will be the night before at at Manchester Academy and the last the night after at Plug in Sheffield.

They will be the first Terrorvision shows since the band performed a UK farewell tour in September, 2001, to coincide with their greatest hits compilation, Whales and Dolphins.

The group had gone their separate ways in June, 2001, after 13 years together.

Until recently they had worked on their own projects. Tony, 37, formed a rock group called Laika Dog with three musicians from Keighley, whom he met while dry stone walling.

Laika Dog performed a gig at former Huddersfield venue Bar 1 Twenty in February last year and are still going strong.

Terrorvision formed in 1991 and it took only a single demo tape to secure a deal and an imprint label, Total Vegas, with EMI Records.

They released a succession of albums, Formaldehyde in 1992, How To Make Friends And Influence People in 1994 and Regular Urban Survivors in 1996.

Singles from the albums which enjoyed success included New Policy One, Pretend Best Friend, Alice, What’s The Matter and Perseverance.

Tickets for the Picturedrome gig cost £20 and are available from the venue any evening from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. They can also be obtained by calling 0161 832 1111.
