The new season of Hepworth Live gets underway this month with the opening gig by Irish singer and songwriter Kieran Goss.

There will be a warm welcome for Kieran whose concert at Hepworth proved a big hit last season.

Kieran is one of Ireland’s leading contemporary stars with appearances on TV and radio. He regularly fills Belfast Opera House and is now building an audience in England.

Kieran was born and raised in County Down, Northern Ireland and was just nine years old when he got his first guitar. Growing up in a big family with diverse musical tastes meant that early on he was hearing the music of Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Frank Sinatra and The Rolling Stones.

Not surprisingly those widely varying influences have helped Kieran produce a sound that is unique.

As a student in Belfast, he played gigs to support himself as he studied law. But after qualifying, he headed to France and Germany in order to avoid being drafted into the legal profession!

Kieran returned to Ireland in 1989 to make his first album and has gone on to build a career that has earned him fans across the globe.

While his songs have undoubtedly made him a star, it is Kieran’s live performances which have cemented his huge reputation as a performer.

See him at Hepworth Village Hall on September 28.
