FANCY a laugh? Then get down to The Parish on February 3.
For that is when the Kirkgate venue launches the The PaHAHAirsh Comedy Club.
The aim is to bring an affordable but quality comedy night to Huddersfield.
Launching the first event will be Alex Boardman, who specialises in the laddish, male perspective of the world.
While he is not for the easily offended, he has proved popular already on the Manchester circuit.
Also appearing will be Barry Dodds, who took to the stand up at the young age of 21. Now a firm favourite with audiences around the UK, the former sailor decided to try his luck in Europe – and in 2006 became the first comedian to perform live on Luxembourg TV.
The night will also showcase up-and-coming local talent, starting with Lou Saffire.
Huddersfield-born Lou was a finalise on Channel 4’s So You Think You’re Funny and has appeared at clubs around the UK, turning his frustration with the world into an energetic and hilarious show.
Later PaHAHAirsh nights will have short open mic spots for budding comics.
