WE’VE welcomed their plumbers with open arms and now Poland’s rock bands are heading to these shores to show us how it’s done eastern European style.
Holmfirth will welcome a Polish double header on May 15 when bands Riverside and Tides From Nebula play their only UK gig outside of London.
Headliners Riverside are on month long European tour to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
The four piece have been compared to Porcupine Tree, The Mars Volta, Opeth, Dream Theater and Tool and they are one of the top rock acts in their homeland.
Their 2009 album Anno Domini High Definition reached number one in the Polish charts while their previous release Rapid Eye Movement was almost as popular making it to number two.
Fellow Poles, Tides From Nebula have been enthralling audiences across mainland Europe since 2008 and they come to the UK on the back of their second album Earthshine.
The gig, put on by the Classic Rock Society, is at the Picturedrome on Sunday, May 15.
